We believe rehabilitation plays an essential part in recovery for patients suffering a wide variety of orthopedic-related conditions.
We opened a physical and hand rehabilitation department to allow our physicians, therapists and patients to work together as a team to achieve the best possible treatment outcomes. Our rehabilitation department is located directly on sight, which allows for immediate and effective communication between the patient, therapist and physician.
Common forms of physical therapy include therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy such as mobilization, manipulation, and stretching, physical and mechanical means such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and traction, and finally, functional training in self-care and home management. Our occupational therapist is a certified hand therapist, focusing on treatment and rehabilitation of upper extremity disorders as well as fabrication of custom splints for the hand, wrist and elbow.
Treatment plans are individualized. Your physician's clinical evaluation will guide the type of therapy most likely to improve your condition. Therapy can be used pre-surgery, post-surgery and in some cases in place of surgery. Depending upon your condition, your therapy may postpone or eliminate the need for surgery.
